Ivan Buxton Gay Jr. is a proud Navy Veteran. Ivan received an Honorable Discharge following his experience in the military, which included Vietnam War Service.
Vietnam War Service

Ivan Buxton Gay Jr. joined the military to serve in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Entering active enlistment in the Navy, Ivan joined the military during a critical time of the conflict. During his two years of Vietnam War Service, Ivan served his country aboard the USS Forrestal. His role in the Navigation Group included managing critical responsibilities, such as planning support for the safe landing of aircraft on the USS Forrestal ship. Following his Vietnam War Service, Ivan was offered the opportunity of a promotion if he chose to reenlist in active duty. However, desiring to be closer to his loved ones in hopes of soon transitioning back into civilian life, Ivan instead chose to transfer into the reserves.
Navy Reserve
In 1968, Ivan Buxton Gay Jr. completed two years of active enlisted service in the Vietnam War. Following the tour, Ivan was offered a promotion with the signing of an additional enlistment contract. In hopes of returning to his loved ones, Ivan instead decided to join the Navy Reserve. He continued to serve in the military as a member of the reserves for four additional years.
Navy Veteran

Ivan Buxton Gay Jr. was honorably discharged from the Navy and Navy Reserve in 1970. After six years of service to his country, Ivan left the military with an honorable discharge. Today, the proud Navy Veteran continues to support the brave heroes who fight for our country and its freedoms. When possible, Ivan enjoys giving back to organizations and nonprofit efforts that support fellow veterans.
